LeoVegas at a glance: who it suits
LeoVegas is a Swedish-founded online casino that launched in 2012 with a simple idea: design for the phone first and the desktop second. The company behind it was founded in 2011 by Gustaf Hagman and Robin Ramm-Ericson and grew into LeoVegas Group, which today also runs BetMGM in the UK, Sweden and the Netherlands as well as brands such as expekt and Royal Panda. Since 2022 the group has belonged to MGM Resorts International, which reports it within its MGM Digital segment.
This review focuses on leovegas.com, the Swedish-licensed main site, with notes on the UK and German versions. LeoVegas suits casino players who want a large slot library, a premium live casino and a well-designed app, and who like the option of an occasional sports bet. If you need lots of payment choice, or want a sportsbook as your main product, it is a less natural fit.

Our rating
Very good: 8.8 / 10. Every operator is rated on the same five criteria and weights. The overall score is the weighted mean, rounded to one decimal. Read the method.
Licensing and trust
The Swedish main site is the responsibility of Roar Vegas Ltd, registered in Malta, whose Spelinspektionen licence 23Si808 covers commercial online gaming and betting and runs until 27 November 2028. LeoVegas Gaming PLC holds the group's UK Gambling Commission licence (account 39198), under which leovegas.co.uk is registered, as well as a Malta Gaming Authority licence. German customers use leovegas.de, where LVSports Limited is on the GGL whitelist for virtual slot games and sports betting, and LeoVegas also appears among Ontario's regulated sites.
The record has some blemishes. In 2018 LeoVegas paid a £600,000 penalty in the UK over misleading adverts and failures involving self-excluded customers, and in August 2022 the Gambling Commission fined LeoVegas Gaming PLC £1.32 million for social responsibility and anti-money laundering failings, with an official warning and an audit. In Sweden, a 2025 reprimand and SEK 8 million penalty over the duty of care was annulled by the Administrative Court in Linköping in June 2026, and a separate review of technical requirements was closed without action in August 2026.
Taken together, strict licences, a large listed owner and a recent favourable outcome in Sweden put LeoVegas near the top of our trust scale, held back by the UK enforcement history.
Slots, jackpots and live casino
The casino is the heart of LeoVegas. The Swedish app listing advertises several thousand slots, from big-name releases to titles only available at LeoVegas, plus jackpot games and digital roulette and blackjack. LeoJackpot is a progressive jackpot shared across selected games, and the group owns studios of its own, including Push Gaming, bought in 2023, and the in-house studio Blue Guru Games.
Real dealers host roulette, blackjack, baccarat and game shows day and night, streamed from a number of studios as well as from land-based casinos. A distinctive extra is the LeoVegas Exclusive range: tables run with Evolution's studios in Latvia that only LeoVegas players can join. Some tables have Swedish-speaking hosts, and deposits can be made mid-session without leaving the table.
The catalogue is not the same in every country. The German site, for example, holds permits for virtual slot games and sports betting only, so live dealer tables are not part of that offer. If one particular game type matters to you, check the lobby for your country before signing up.
Sportsbook
The sports section prices more than 60 sports, ranging from football, ice hockey and tennis to Swedish harness racing (trotting). In June 2026 the group moved its Swedish brands, LeoVegas included, onto Tiger, its own proprietary sportsbook platform, so the betting product in Sweden now runs on in-house technology.
The Swedish help pages describe the tools most bettors expect: Bet Builder for combining selections from one event, live betting, and Cash Out, including partial Cash Out on selected events. Local touches include pool betting on rounds of 8, 12 or 13 matches and Flex Kombi, where you decide in advance how many legs of a combination may lose in exchange for lower odds. The sportsbook is capable, but for most customers it is a companion to the casino rather than the reason to join.
If an event you want is missing, Swedish customers can ask support to request odds for it, giving at least 24 hours' notice. We have not compared LeoVegas prices with those of other bookmakers, so we make no claim about how competitive its odds are, and the betting menu on the UK and German sites is not identical to the Swedish one.
Website and mobile apps
LeoVegas built its name on mobile, and the line-up reflects that: there are apps for iOS and Android, and every product also runs in a mobile browser. The Swedish iOS app, which bundles casino, live casino and sport, held a rating of 4.7 out of 5 from around 22,000 ratings on the Swedish App Store in October 2026.
In Sweden you log in with BankID, which removes passwords from the process and ties your account to a verified identity. Customers elsewhere use the login method set by their local site. The downside of an app that makes play effortless is exactly that, which is a good reason to set your limits before you start.
Deposits and withdrawals
In Sweden the cashier is deliberately short: you deposit with Swish or by bank transfer through Trustly, and winnings return to the method you deposited with. LeoVegas says it charges no withdrawal fees. Its help centre aims to process Swish payouts within 24 hours, while Trustly payouts can take up to five banking days, with verification coming first in both cases. These are the operator's own targets, not times we have measured.
Two methods cover most Swedish players, but there is no card or e-wallet alternative if neither suits you. Payment menus on the UK, German and other sites differ and are shown in each cashier, so check the options for your country before you register.
Welcome offers and promotions
Welcome offers at LeoVegas depend on your country and the product you choose. Swedish rules only allow a bonus at the start of the customer relationship, the UK has its own limits on bonus terms, and other markets differ again, so the offer you see will be specific to your site.
Read the wagering requirement, game weighting, maximum stake and expiry date before you opt in. A bonus is always optional, and playing without one keeps your withdrawals free of extra conditions.
Customer support
Help is mainly delivered by live chat, which you reach through the Help or Customer Support menu. A chatbot asks for your name and e-mail address before passing you to an agent, and your chat history is kept so you do not have to repeat yourself next time. The Swedish app listing advertises live chat around the clock, although the help centre notes that chat can occasionally be unavailable, and an e-mail route also exists.
The help centre is well organised and available in several languages, covering payments, verification, betting rules and game rules. We found no telephone option among the published contact routes, which some players will miss.
Safer gambling tools
LeoVegas groups its player-protection information under the LeoSafePlay name. In Sweden the toolkit includes deposit limits by day, week or month, session time limits that log you out automatically, reminders of how long you have played, an account lock, breaks lasting from 24 hours to four weeks, and self-exclusion for anything from one month to one year or permanently.
LeoVegas also applies mandatory gross and net deposit limits in Sweden that are tied to the customer's income using public data from the Swedish Tax Agency, a meaningful safeguard that goes beyond a simple self-set cap. Through Spelpaus.se, Swedish players can also exclude themselves from every licensed gambling company in the country at once.

Our verdict on LeoVegas
LeoVegas earns its reputation as a mobile casino: a deep slot library, live tables you will not find elsewhere and an app that Swedish users rate highly. MGM ownership and strict licences give it a solid footing, and the income-based deposit limits are a genuine extra layer of protection.
The weaker points are practical ones: a two-method cashier in Sweden, a sportsbook that is capable but secondary, and a UK enforcement history that is a few years old but real. For casino-first players in a country LeoVegas serves, it is one of the more convincing options; set your limits early and stick to them.
